Join us for this workshop, led by Paula Armstrong Ceramics, to create your very own tree decorations to take home with you. Paula will show you how to shape your clay then paint it with coloured slips - you can make up to three decorations if you have time!

Stay active – stay fit – stay healthy! Whether you are a veteran runner or just thinking about starting your adventure with running, we have something to help you stay motivated throughout the dark, wet and cold months ahead. Run or walk for at least 30 min, three times a week for a chance of winning amazing prizes every week!

For one week only, Northstowe Arts are joining us to run a Group Lantern Making Workshop. What will Northstowe’s young people make to sum up who they are? Did you know that, every week, Northstowe’s young people (11+) are invited to join the friendly youth-workers at the free pop up youth club? With a range of fun activities, tuck shop, games consoles, and more - all on a converted double decker bus!

Pyrography is all about burning designs into wood! Join us for this workshop, led by Nazanin Amjadi, to create your very own tree decorations – some to take home with you, and some for Northstowe’s Christmas Tree on the Green.

Northstowe Muslims Winter Festival is planned around a number of fun activities for children and adults. We have a lantern workshop and quiz for all, and for young children, we are organising a dress competition. The winners and participants will win prizes and certificates. Light refreshments will be provided for everyone.

Advent is about a season of waiting, anticipating the coming of the Christ, God’s King. While Israel was waiting for the coming Messiah 2000 years ago, today we wait for the second coming of Jesus to put the world right. Our Advent pack this year will include daily Bible reading, questions for family discussion, a thought for the day (accessible in video form on our Facebook Page), a new song to help us memorise Mary’s song as she looks forward to Jesus, and a craft pack. You are invited to put YOUR face in the picture at the Nativity Scene outside Church House. We love to get creative, finding new ways to tell the Christmas Story under the light of a Christmas Star. This year, our team are busy drawing, cutting, and painting, so THERE IS ROOM for you in the Nativity Scene.

Let’s light up Northstowe this winter! Join the Lantern Parade (5pm from the north end of Bug Hunter Waters), or head down to the Green (5-8pm) where there’ll be food trucks, a live music stage, community groups, Santa and switching on the lights on the Town Tree.

We are excited to be hosting a Christmas Fayre in December. Come and support over 20 local small businesses this Christmas!

Sustainable Northstowe will be running Toy and Christmas Jumper swaps, and partnering with Northstowe Arts on an Upcycled Decorations crafting workshop.

An evening of fantastic performances from students at Northstowe Secondary College showcasing their incredible Music, Drama and Dance talents. Featuring the NSC Show Choir, Concert Band, Drama club plus a number of soloists and more, it is guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit!

Back by popular demand, we'll gather round Northstowe's Christmas Tree by the light of (electronic) tea lights to sing Northstowe's Favourite Carols interspersed with poems and reading from various community figures. Foodies’ Food Trucks will be on the Green 5-8pm, including Edmonds Box selling alcoholic drinks for those who wish to indulge - but drinks are not necessary to enjoy this festive community event! We warmly invite you to bring along hot chocolates, teas, or coffee to keep those fingers warm as we sing!

Getting an event inn perspective is vital to help us make sense of it. But with Christmas, we often lose focus of the baby at the heart of the Christmas story. And we fail to understand what he means because we don’t put him in perspective. The theme of the nativity service (and some of the crafts) is ‘Putting the Baby in Perspective’. Aimed particularly at under 11s, the Christmas craft and Nativity service is free and everyone is welcome. Crafts will include gingerbread decorating. There will be free drinks and snacks between crafts and Nativity Service and after the service. The Nativity service will include ways for children to participate, including especially those dressed as characters from the nativity.

What is more Christmassy than gathering around a Christmas tree and singing carols together? Weaving together traditional carols and readings to retell the Christmas story, everyone is welcome to join us for this traditional carol service. Followed by free hot drinks and snacks.

On Longest Night, we recognise that this season can be hard, for many reasons. We invite you to drop in any time from dusk to tie a ribbon in remembrance or recognition. Revds Beth and Stephen can be available if you want to talk… but feel free to come and go quietly. Those who gather for our half-hour Night Prayer at 8pm will acknowledge all these nameless blues in prayer, and seek “a quiet night and a perfect end” with words hallowed by tradition.

Join us for a fun filled festive walk of the month organised by Northstowe Sports and Well Being.  We will be covering the majority of the advent windows in Northstowe, hopping from one window to the next guessing the Christmas songs on each window.  If you are interested please register using the link on the event’s page.

There Is Room for you and your family at our relaxed intergenerational gathering on Christmas Eve. During the service, each person will make a Christingle. In a moment of wonder, the candles will be lit, the warm glow symbolising the light of Christ and bringing hope to people living in darkness.

One of Northstowe's most wonderful Christmas traditions. Once the potatoes are peeled and the presents wrapped, we gather (weather permitting) around a cracking campfire to await the moment when Christmas Eve tips into Christmas Day. And there to celebrate, with bread and wine, and words hallowed by tradition, the miracle of Christmas - God made flesh: love present among us!

Join us for a laid back Christmas Morning Gathering, with pastries, bucks fizz, carols, and storytelling. THERE IS ROOM for you and all the family – but an idea of numbers helps with the planning!

A short service of Christmas carols, readings and prayers, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Everyone welcome to join us outside for this joyful celebration that God has come as one of us to rescue us.

Pop in for free drinks and refreshments, and space to chat, work, play board games or learn a new creative hobby. Very informal, no pressure, but warm and friendly and open to all.

Time for you, your baby and God. For babies and their preschool big siblings as well as for parents and carers. Join us for singing, storytelling, toys, crafts, and space to simply be. What unites us is much stronger than our denominational backgrounds: it is a rooted, growing, and transforming faith based on an encounter with the ancient God who still changes lives today. Our vision is to be people who are praying, exploring and sharing.

We meet to play games, eat snacks, learn from the Bible and discuss important questions. This term we're looking at how the Old Testament points to Jesus.

Stop. Breathe. Pray.  Join us as we weave together ancient and contemporary wisdom (often poetry), share in ten minutes of silence, and conclude with Night Prayer, using the beautiful poetic words of the monastic service of completion at the end of the day – Compline.
